Les allemands Nils Hornischer, Marketing manager international chez North Kiteboarding et son pote Markus Steininger sont tous les deux décédés lors un accident de SUP sur une rivière près de Munich jeudi passé. ----------- From Sky Solbach's website: The world lost lost two good men last week and I lost a good friend. North Kiteboarding International Marketing Manager Nils Hornischer and his friend Markus Steininger became the victims of a fatal SUP accident on a river near Munich last thursday evening. It is a tragedy that words can not even begin to describe. Nils was a driving force behind NKB and I had the privilege of working together with him over the past 4 years on everything from company photo shoots to discussing crazy marketing ideas late at night after too many beers. Nils was a passionate character who lived his life to the max every day and always inspired those around him. As Nils always said "Rock & Roll!" We will miss you so much and we will never forget your smile. BAVARIA, Germany - Thursday evening, September 2, 2010, saw the tragic death of experienced standup paddlers on the Mangfall River near Munich, in Bavaria Germany. The two paddlers, Marcus Steininger and Nils Hornischer, decided to go for a quick evening paddle after work on a section of river that they knew well. The river was unusually high, and they were washed downstream quickly and over a low head dam. Trapped in the hydraulic at the dam’s base, the two men drowned. Both were equipped with life jackets, helmets and leashes (which ties the paddler to his board for quick recovery after a fall)."
