Die Nummer 3 des letzten King of the AIR, Steven Akkersdijk, bekannt für hohe Kiteloops wobei er den Drachen sehr tief unten durchdreht.
From a young age Steven has been hooked to the wind, the freedom that it provides, and forces that it packs.
It all began with sailing over the Dutch lakes with his father, which kept him busy for a while; up until he discovered windsurfing, and the speed that it brought. At age 13, Steven’s dad bought him kitesurfing lessons as a present, and after only a few lessons, he had it all dialed in. This was the sport for him!
Only a year into kiteboarding, Steven did an internship at a Dutch kite school over his summer holidays. This set the scene for years to come; kiting through summer and trying to stay on the water as long as possible in winter.
Kiteboarding only really became a lifestyle and career for Steven after high school. Fast-forward through the years and he is still doing what he loves, living for that rush of boosting high.
“Riding with friends is the best motivation that you can get and at King of the Air, that is all we do! A bunch of mates pushing each other to go big and pull off the most extreme tricks.”
