Aloha, kreeg een mailtje van Grant in Maui die mij toendertijd erg geholpen heeft, vandaar dat ik van de gelegenheid gebruik maak om iets terug te kunnen doen. Mocht je op zoek zijn naar accomodatie, check dit.
We
have come up with an idea to share our knowledge of the island and part
of our home, our house mate is moving out of the upper part of the
house, a self contained suite with it's own private entrance that we
are going to offer everyone out there and we are going to share all
that we have here with all of you. We are located 14 miles east of
Kahului, 6 miles past Paia in an area called Haiku on the Northern edge
of the island (not far from the surfing area.... 'Jaws', if it's
breaking I'll take you 4x4'ing to watch it 'go off'). It is a little
cooler over here and it rains most nights as we are in the jungle. The
tourist beaches aren't that close, but there are a few smaller local
North Shore beaches, sometimes the winter swell is a little rougher up
on this side but there are safe swimming areas for those of all ages.
If you don't know.....Maui is a world class windsurfing / kitesurfing destination, if
you want to learn...... I know the right people.....if you need the
gear.......I know the right people.
Hello to our my friends and family.
The time has come and the place is right here in Maui.
The
suite will be refurnished as soon as our house mate leaves, depending
on the interest and confirmed bookings that we can get we might upgrade
from a queen to a king bed.....and maybe pick up a nice car with
working A/C.....no POS Maui car here.
If we do get a car, we'll offer airport pick-up and drop off.
The
suite is elevated with nice SW and NW views, on the balcony we have a
nice set of chairs and table. You will have your own large stainless
BBQ to use, toaster oven, fridge, microwave, blender, coffee/espresso
machine and the bathroom has a bathtub.
There is lots of
closet space, a nice private jungle view, 37inch LCD TV w/cable,
computer is hooked up to the TV, surround stereo with DVD (we have
about 50 movies here), a little table to eat at. We will update the
photos as soon as Alison moves out.
As for all the extras we have for you to use (at your own risk)
1 - 2 man kayak (scupper style for all those Vancouver life guards out there) (usually $40 a day)
2 - Honda Ruckus's (50 cc scooters, no license required) (usually $15 hr, each)
6 - bikes (cruisers to mtn bikes)
3 - sets of new snorkeling gear (I'll teach you and take you on at least one guided tour)
7 - surfboards from 6'5" to 12' (lessons included.....by me) (usually $30 a day)
2 - stand-up paddle boards (lessons also included....by me once again)(usally $40 a day)
2 - boogie boards
1 - skim board
1 - 3 metre trainer kite for kite boarding
2 - beach chairs.....nice ones
1 - large 5 day cooler
1 - beach umbrella
If there is enough interest I have a line on 2
OC-1 canoes (outriggers)......so let me know
Here
are a few photos of the way things are right now with all of Alison's
things, it will be a lot better once we redo the suite.
Just
under the balcony (25 feet down) there is a pond that is home to some
frogs so most evenings are filled with great sounds of the jungle. You
won't hear any busy roads or see loads of people.....you don't have to
visit with us if you want. We can take you out on the town here in Paia
and show you Maui and a different way of life here in Hawaii.
We
have space starting in late Nov, most likely the cost will be $75 a
night w/o car......$95 w/car.....but we aren't 100% sure yet.
If
flights out of Vancouver are too high try Hawaiian out of
Seattle......some flights are only $288 return!!! There are plenty of
hotels in the Sea-tac area that offer up to 2 weeks free car storage
for just one nights stay at their hotel.
So please come and visit with us, or just enjoy our great location!!
Aloha
