I was so happy to go to the BigAir WindJam event. Never been on the west coast of USA, San Francisco before. The competition was on West Beach not far away from the Golden Gate Bridge.
I met Brian and Heather from USA there. They are importer of Ozone in USA. Tam from Tahiti was traveling with them. They had a nice camper almost on the spot.... sweet.
I was living in a hotel with my friend Jorgen from Norway. Only 10 min in a cab from the beach. Purfect. The competition spot was quite gusty. But for Tam that was no big case. He was flying with the gust. So he got a second place in in Big Air. Congratulation, good job! The organizer team was doing a good job but had a bit to much to do. It's o.k. to inform the riders before they say it is a kiteloop competition in microphone. But All over it was a nice weekend. I had some big jumps and some nice kite-loops. So I received a prize: a new board.
Cool to kite under the big bridge. We also had a pretty good session with a photographer over there. Have not seen the pictures yet. Hope they are good.
On monday I was on a new spot. One hour driving from the city. Can´t remember the name of the spot. Was a crazy good spot. So steady wind and so flat flat water. I love this place. Brown hills around a big river. Therefore you have so insane sick steady wind. Had a good freestyle session. We were there from noon to sunset. With Brian, Heather an Tam. What a beautiful day;)
If you go to San Francisco you don´t want to miss this spot... I also want to tell you wakestyle people out there. Try 20 meter line on the sport. I just love this kite more and more. Is sick for unhooked! I´m loving it!!!! Sigve
