A week ago I returned home after meeting up with Cabrinha Team riders Damien Leroy and Jon Modica in Jupiter, Florida. The purpose of the trip was to demo the new Cabrinha Omega.
Attached is a photo showing the 12 Omega, the 12SB1.
Feedback from potential customers was Excellent. To summarize, kiters thought the Omega in the 2:1 mode was faster than the XB2 and had slightly more bar pressure. Thought as a result the Omega might be better in the surf. Rumor has it that Pete Cabrinha has been seen recently in Maui only on his new Omega. Kiters also thought the Omega in the 1:1 mode was just as good for unhooked stuff but didn't go upwind quite as well as the SB2. These kiters were also impressed with the ease of converting from the 2:1 to the 1:1 control sytem and the improvements in construction: beefed up LE seam and neoprene covers on the Sprint system clips. They were also very pleased with the price! Some remarked that they would have preferred a carbon rather than alloy bar, but that it wasn't a critical issue.
