Dag 4:
Since Monday, the wind blew on the 2004 Corona Extra Winter Tour's flags. After one ski round, one snowboard round, one women round and two junior rounds, the contest was break off today.
When the skiers arrived on the event's site this morning, they prepared their equipment and stayed ready to compete. After a while, the wind finally came but... from South-East : the opposite side !
The organizers moved the contest area, as several riders were already kiting on the other side. But as soon as all the banners and flags were there, the wind died !
So once again, everybody moved , but the wind never came again. At 3.30pm, Stéphane Bodou, the race director, decided to cancel the day, as the sun went behind the mountain...
Everyone came back home, to take a break before tonight... Next meeting for the competitors is tomorrow at 10am.
Dag 5:
Yesterday, the contest was cancelled for lack of wind : riders, organizers and spectators enjoyed the sun until 3.30pm...
Today, the Corona Extra Winter Tour wakes up in the snowstorm ! Everybody meets at 10 am at the Bar de la Ferme, exactly situated on the top of the Col.
The organizers move to the contest area, to check the conditions up there : there are between 7 and 30 knots of wind ! They wait til 1.30pm then they announce that the contest is once again cancelled for the day. The wind is too violent and gusty and its direction always changes. For sure tomorrow, this brand new snow's coat will give a lot of fun to the riders !
Everyone is looking forward tomorrow, which will be the last day of the french step of the Corona Extra Winter Tour and French Snowkite Championship.
