Last Wednesday, the jury meeting for the 2nd VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD at ISPO Winter 06 took place in Munich. The international jury had the task of choosing the best Sports Design products in seven categories and finally made their decisions.
Of the 222 applications, the Crossbow Kite was chosen as one of the best products in the safety and security equipment category, and was nominated for this year’s AWARD along with 4 other products of the same category.
Launched in 2005, the VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD was developed by ISPO and VOLVO to honor outstanding and innovative product and design developments within the sports industry.
This year’s topic is Active Safety, which includes design solutions to protect your body, mind and equipment. The competition was open to sporting goods industry companies and designers of sporting goods. It is open to all products that are in production but have not had their market launch before the year 2005.
