de 2007 graphics van de underground boardjes voor 2007
verder nog weinig bekend over de boardjes.
voor meer.
We are just finishing the 07 boards.
The core material on the FLX and firebird has changed from foam to wood.
This is better for the environment and the end result is the boards ride
smoother, have better pop and are UNBREAKABLE!!!
The timber is called Paulownia an Asian hardwood that is almost as light as
balsa wood. The timber has a cell structure more like a foam that a timber
so does not soak water. It has good reflex strength.
It grows very fast, 10 years from seedling to harvest has a long, up to 4m
tap root so does not require a lot of water. It has leaves that are very
rich in nitrogen which is good for the soil and the land can be used for
other purposes while the trees are growing. It has huge bell flowers in
spring that are great for honey production. As far as a sustainable timber
that is good for the environment Paulownia is hard to beat!
The shapes are similar to the 06 in that we still have the same double
concave base and similar outlines.
new board sizes detailed below.
Sizes are 122 x 37 same, 128 x 38 same 132 x 39 same, 138 x 41 new, 142 x 42
2cm wider, 152 x 44 same plus a new 148 x 46 flat rocker superlightwind and
a 112 x 38 that all the top young kid handle pass boys in NZ use and the
firebird 141 x 40 has a doubleconcave base now.
Attached is a pic of the boards bases, they all have their own story and
collectively have a story. In full size on the base they are a work of art.
The decks are plainer colours and not so busy.
Thanks Adrian Roper
