When you plan a trip to Ilha do Guajirú and you Google the place you will find a ilha-do-guajiru.com website. This site called "The Official Tourist Office" gives you the impression that all Pousadas and Restaurants of Ilha do Guajirú are working togehter and created that website.
Unfortunately, this site is owned by a 1 man real estate company. This guy from Holland bought land at Ilha do Guajirú in 2008, mostly mangrove land outsite of the center and tries to sell it as constructional land (see picture masterplan). But mangroves are protected and under nature conservancy. To remove them is a crime in Brazil.
Besides the owner of the real estate company owns the most of the Windvillage apartments at Ilha do Guajirú. So, do not be suprised when all other Pousadas are fully booked and only Windvillage has availability.
There is no Official Tourist Office - this site wants to sell overpriced mangrove land or to rent overprised apartments without any service.
In the meantime most of the Pousadas of Ilha do Guajirú signed a declaration (see picture) to take them off the website and there are 2 independent Ilha do Guajirú websites which offer direct access to the Pousadas without any central booking office.
