Hallo medekiters

http://www.surfclubkeros.gr/surf-spot-keros-beach.html

Dus, help us out here!

Thanks!

Hi! I am French, from Bretagne, living in Alkmaar. And my girlfriend is Greek... so I can compare a bit the 2 places where I 've been kiting quite a bit already...

If you want wind with almost 100 % probability to kite everyday, Grece is probably the best choice: in July and August you have strong north wind on the islands of the south Agean see... and there you get quite a lot of choice... I recommend you smaller islands where the locals there will be less stressed by the load of tourists at this time of the year... You also have to be able to survive 35 degrees celcius in the afternoon

If you want cooler places, eat wondefull crepes, Bretagne is better. The more you go to the west, the more quiet it will be (less tourists). Lots of natural parcs, nature etc... (I am from Crozon, of course the most beautiful place on earth, without being chauvinistic... I can recommend you). There you get also pretty good swell, as an alternative for kiting you can go surfing... and when the wind is up, well you go waveriding with your kite...
for flat water, nice lagoons in the north coats of Finistere (Treompan, dunes de sainte margerite), the wave spots are more to the south (although there are some killing secret reef spots of the north coast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0ID6V6_ynI), in crozon (la Palue, Goulien), la Torche. Even more south you get Quiberon, beautifull place, wild an nice waves.
The more you go to the south of France, the less wind there is... Ultimatelly you end up in Basque country, where you ll get perfect wave condition, but not as high wind probability as in Bretagne...
If you go with the van, you ll be able to meet lots of kiteboarding and surfing mates the parkings directly at the spots...

I must say, the wind is not as much as in greece in the Agean sea, but within 3 weeks, you ll find at least 5-6 days of kiting... and as many for surfing or bodyboarding, and as many for diving...

Hope to help you make a choice...

Tell me if you need more info...
