Helaas lees ik net berichten dat vandaag 2 november een kitesurfer om het leven is gekomen. Dit allles is gebeurd in Texas USA.

I just received an early report about a very serious accident
involving a well experienced and respected kiteboarder in Texas in
the USA. Limited early information indicates that a fatal head
impact with a pole in the water was involved. My sincere regrets and
condolences go out to this rider´s family and friends on their
tragic loss. Additional facts should come in but for now we should
pause and share a moment in consideration of this lost rider.

The accident was in Corpus Christi, Texas involving a very good
friend to an incredible number of people. Peter Nordby of Zero
Gravity Kiteboarding.
I don´t want to discuss the details, as it is 3rd party knowledge to
me and is very upsetting to discuss.
All I can say is that Peter Nordby was an amazing person, a
phenomenal father, and incredible friend, and one of the greatest
people I think I´ve ever met. He is one of those people that
absolutely everyone loves. A huge promoter of kiteboarding, of
enjoying life to the fullest, of treating people with respect, and
of loving your friends and family.
I think our community of kiteboarders is and will be in shock for
time to come.
My thoughts go out to Peter´s incredible family. He is an amazing
father, husband and friend. Taking a moment of silence for him and
his family is a great idea, Rick.
