====
So now as of the 19th of October KLM dropped the prices for surfboards for zone 4 to 100 euros.
It looks all still a bit confusing and randomly chosen.
Can KLM please tell us why it is that:
- A sportsbag regardless of size weighing under 23kgs containing golf, hockey, ski, diving or fishing equipment is considered as a standard piece of and if it contains a surfboard it is considered special ba...ggage…
- If you bring a boardbag only and no other luggage you have to pay the extra charge of 100 euros. (Rick Kleinsma tells us it’s handled with more care. But that arises another question and that is:
- why is zone 4 more expensive than zone 1 since “the extra care” can only consists of transporting the stuff to and from the plane?
And can KLM please tell what the extra handling care with special baggage consist of? We are no experts but it seems to us that the only difference is that we bring it to a different belt. Someone picks it up form there and transports it to the plane like normal luggage. On arrival the only difference is that it’s dropped of on a different belt where we collect it ourselves.
If we know what's the reason for these rules of KLM maybe we can understand why it has to cost so much money.
Happy Surfing!
