Double World Champion in 2002, Mark Shinn was the man to beat in 2003… But Mark will not republish its exploit of 2002. Meeting with a champion who did not say his last word!

Flysurf.com: World champion 2002 double, you were the man to beat in 2003, how did you live this status throughout the season? Mark Shinn: "In 2002 the style of riding that was most appreciated in competitions was huge air and board off tricks. This suited my style well as I was probably one of the first riders really experimenting with all the board off tricks and possibilities. This lead to a lot of my success for last year. From the outset of 2003 it was clear that things were going to be different with a new style emerging that was totally different from what we were seeing in 2002 meaning that for many riders it was back to the beginning again and the rankings of 2002 were not so relevant!"
