Mondial Du Vent - PKRA Frankrijk, Leucate
Van 12 april tot en met 18 april wordt er weer volop gestreden om de titel en de puntjes in de Zuid-Franse kustplaats Leucate (Windverwachting). Helaas geen golfspot zoals over enkele weken in de KPWT maar de freestyle zal er niet minder spannend om worden.
In our 2008 event, Mondial du Vent glides on the wave of new disciplines and gives a special attention on Kitesurfing. April 12 to 18th, the best worldwide riders will be on deck to compete for the 45 000€ purse for this first French Freestyle and Race event of the PKRA World Tour. PKRA is an “association of riders for riders†who organizes the world tour. This 2008 tour will gathers ten events thru continents: Mexico, Leucate-France, Dominican Republic, Tarifa-Spain, Fuerteventura-Spain, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Chile and Peru.
Freestyle is a thrilling expression discipline rated by a full panel of international judges. Freestyle judging is based on hard core moves difficulties, risk and style. Kite power and speed helps the rider to jump to 10 meters high.
The best riders in Leucate : Aaron Hadlow (GB) PKRA 2007 World Champion, Kevin Langeree (HOLL) PKRA 2007 runner-up, Alvaro Onieva (ESP), Cesar Portas (ESP), Rui Meira (POR), Etienne Lhote (FRA), Ruben Lenten (NL), Florian Daubos (FRA), Sébastien Garat (FRA), Gisela Pulido (ESP) PKRA World Champion, Jalou Langeree (HOLL), Bruna Kajya (BRA), Bruno Sroka (FRA), long distance World Champion, Fabienne D'Ortoli, Sjouke Bredenkamp (RSA), Kitespeed World record holder and the French Kitespeed World record holder, Alexandre Caizergues, ....
Tevens worden er ook windsurf wedstrijden georganiseerd en voor alle amateurs kiters een mega-boardercross van 20km.
