Een vriend van mij woont op Isla Margarita, hij was bij de wedstrijden op Coche aanwezig.

Dit is zijn korte verslag:
Ruben Lenten is on fire, pulling out sick moves at maximum power. The
radical spanish guy Cesar Portas was doing the highest moves and killers
kiteloops handle-pass, double handle pass, slimchances to blind kiteloop,
underloops with handle pass,..
Aaron Hadlow took the lead doing nice staff very consistence not as high and
not as powerfull than the others two but pulling out kiteloops double
s-bend, underloop slimchance ! , and KGB, and a variety of handle passes.
The day before during the single elimination there was a Heat between Portas
and Hadlow that it could be won by Portas but the judges did not agree with
the crowded and was a feeling on the air that it was stolen... Then on the
double elimination Portas won 6 heat on a row (1 was re-runed against
Onieva) to finally go against Aaron that was waiting on the final. We saw a
tired Portas pulling out sick moves and battling hard. Aaron was not tuned
probably cause he was waiting so long for compete his first heat of the day.
The judges desicion was Portas and they have to compete again...wow at this
time it was the best show with tricks never seen before in competition, and
thank God for having this paradise here with lots of wind and flat glassy
water, sunny and warm, called Coche.
The final again...but the story changed a lot cause Aaron Hadlow put much
more and come back with a lot of his repertoire, he look consistence and
more into it. The crowd was screaming every jump...and they battle hard,
Cesar was not the same as before and failed. The 2004 world champion
deserves his title and he proves it.
