The 2009 PKRA tour schedule is finally out, and it promises to be another exciting year, with many of the proven hi level Kiteboarding locations back for another year.

Freestyle:
Frankrijk - Leucate/Mondial du Vent / 11 april - 16 april
The Famous MONDIAL DU VENT the oldest ongoing kiteboarding event in the world, for its second consecutive year will be joining the PKRA Kiteboarding World Tour. In 2008, the pro riders got a taste of the extreme conditions at Leucate, and made an amazing show for the spectators. For 2009 the competition will be superb, and will set up the pace for the year. Make sure to check all the action.
Mexico - Playa del Carmen/Kitesurf Worldcup / 22 april - 26 april
Mexico 2009- Playa del Carmen, Mexico will be the second stop of the 2009 PKRA World Tour. In 2008 this location proved to be a fun venue with thousands of spectators. Playa del Carmen is the hearth of the world famous "Riviera Maya" whit its many kilometers of powdery white sand beaches, and cristal clear Caribbean waters. During this season the wind can range from 10 to 25 knots from the northeast to the southeast direction. At the moment the event will be a freestyle only event, but there is a chance that the course racing discipline will be added by February 22nd, which will give the racers two months time to prepare themselves.
Spanje - Tarifa/Tarifa Kite Pro 2009 / 1 juli - 5 juli
Tarifa is the most popular kiteboarding destination in Europe. On a regular summer day you can see hundreds of kiteboarders out in the water.
During the 2007 PKRA Kiteboarding World Cup event, the extreme levante wind conditions made for the most espectacular jumps of the year, with Ruben "crazy" Lenten getting the biggest jump of the event right before the event was put on hold due to extreme wind conditions.
In 2008 the event got perfect steady moderate wind conditions with the famous “Poniente†wind direction. Thousands of spectators watched the amazing show. Local Star, Gisela Pulido won the event for the second year in a row.
Portugal - Portimao/Kite Masters 2009 / 8 juli - 12 juli
De kitemasters zijn geen onderdeel van de grote tour, het prijzengeld is er ook een stuk minder maar het is gezien de resultaten van de Langeree's de laatste jaren zeker een leuke stop.
Canarische Eilanden - Fuerta Ventura/Kiteboarding Grand Slam / 18 juli - 22 juli
Fuerteventura once again will host a Grand Slam Event of the PKRA Kiteboarding World Tour. It will hold 2 official disciplines Freestyle, and Racing for nearly 60,000 USD in Prize Money.
Fuerteventura is well known as the most extreme PKRA Kiteboarding World Tour Event due to the guaranteed strong winds encounter at this location. Here you can expect to see some of the best Kiteboarding action with the biggest jumps, top speeds, and most spectacular crashes, as riders push themselves in these very windy conditions.

Nieuw Caledonie - Noumea/Teri Kite Pro / 25 november - 29 november
Nieuw Caledonia is dit jaar nieuw op de PKRA kalender nadat het vorig jaar van de KPWT kalender was afgevalllen. Afgelopen jaar was Hadlow er al even wezen kijken en nog gelijk maar de 1st prijs in beslag.
