Whether there’s wind or not (which hardly happens) there are always kites raising out from behind the palm tress, by 5 pm yesterday we counted 88 kites up in the air and for sure we missed another 10 or more that were moving up or down the moment we counted.

Cabarete is kiteboarding heaven, wide sandy beaches, cross shore trade winds from the right that build up slowly as from 11 am till 2 pm and back off by the end of the day giving us peaceful evenings in the bar or just chilling out on the beach!

During the weekend of the12 and 13^th of June there was a local Dominican event down at Kite beach, first place of that event received a direct entry into the main event together with the 12 pre-seeded men or the 6 pre-seeded women.
