today I read a brief review about Recon in latest issue of german KITE Mag. They stated that they failed relaunching the tested Nitro 14 in winds between 12 and 16 kts and that they had to get back to Pete Cabrinha himself for advise. Pete told them that propper relaunch requires some restistance in the water, utilizing the kiteboard. KITE testers tried again and now it worked. I´m a bit concerned about this report as once the kite has been dropped, the board mostly is gone as well and usually some upwind working is required to get it back. Now it seems that relaunch doesn´t work at all without the board.
They´ve also shown pics of a recon-relaunching C02, swimming kiter holding his board in front of him, but didn´t comment if the relaunch procedure would succeed without "resistance tool" as well.
I wonder how the system behaves in real light wind conditions, where 5th line concepts prooved really effective ? Maybe the way recon "forwards" the force from the steering line to the first strut differs from what the 5th line effects !?

wat een gelul weer, laten we maar weer wat afbranden, :r we hebben weer wat gevonden om te zeiken, pffff

als Phillip Andre zijn 17Nitro (zonder board) in seconden uit het water kan starten tijdens een Heat voor de PKRA Fehmarn terwijl alle anderen gered moesten worden door de rescue boot omdat ze hun kite er niet uit wisten te zwemmen?? dan kun je ook gewoon ff dat handigheidje leren om dat te doen, prima toch, daarna heb je wel weer een coole aanvulling voor makkelijker waterstarten. goede safety en spinnable bar.:*)

Recon is een coole uitvinding en ik hoop dat meer merken met echt goede safety systemen gaan komen net als Cabrinha. (En ik hoop het vervolgens nooit nodig te hebben:) )
