Eric Carriere, Kzimir to his mates, is the main distributor for North Kites in France and he’s launched a new type of winter contest : the search for a pure speed record for kitesurf !!!

Armed with a pistol type radar gun, every session is now spent trying to smash the current ‘record’ (un-ratified)… Latest attempt, last Saturday near Leucate (France) in a 25-35 knot breeze, saw Eric make a run where he hit 44 mph (38 knots), all with a North Rhino 2 as engine and a Fanatic Raptor 130 under his plates…

We’ve been tipped off that he’s waiting on a custom speed 130cm long by 30cm wide that promises for lots of fun for the rest of the winter season !!! And needless to say, we’re talking compulsory crash helmets here, at those kind of speeds you’d be fool not to…
