Standouts today included Leeshai Miller of Israel who boosted incredibly huge with a gigantic 60+ foot air; Leeshai said, "That jump was for sure
the biggest I’ve taken, ever in fact." Also Ruben Lenten of the Netherlands went big, narrowly squeezing by the wind master, Robby Naish. In response to his victory, Rueben said, "It’s cool because Robby Naish is such a legend and halfway through my heat my heart was pounding when I realized he was charging some big waves, but I beat him – it was sick."
In the women’s heats, Germany’s Kristin Boese overcame the harrowing conditions to earn a spot in the women’s semifinals; her competitor is still to be decided.
The King and Queen of the Air titles are still elusive, but with only six men and four women remaining, the competitors are growing hungry. The final day of Red Bull King of the Air will be tomorrow, Saturday, at noon. The forecast is calling for another slight drop in swell, but the
winds should keep howling. Ten kiters will return to the waves for one final go at kiteboarding’s premier title and a piece of the $21,000 prize
purse.
