For the 2020 edition of the Red Bull Megaloop 12 riders will be pre-selected by the Red Bull Megaloop Committee based on ranking from previous events and their current level of riding.
Criteria
Entries are open to both men and women. 4 Riders will be selected from video submissions. This is your chance to claim your spot in what is known as ‘the most extreme kiteboarding’ event. Do you think you have what it takes to compete with the best megaloop experts, then make sure to submit your video before March 15th here >>
The committee will be judging the video’s on extremity, execution and flow. Make sure to show you are in full control and capable of pulling off big megaloops in extreme conditions. By showing big megaloops from start to landing. Not a film pro? Don’t worry, this is not a best clip editing contest. Though nice clips are highly appreciated, the focus will be on clearly showing big megaloops performed in strong wind, showing full control and style. Suggestion would be a 2-3 minute clip showing multiple jumps. At least a few wide shots showing full jumps including landings.
Extremity
High megaloops with power is what the judges are after. More, height, yank and distance covered.
Execution and flow
Adding innovative tricks to the megaloop is important as this ups the feeling, risk and look. Getting levelled or above your kite has the preference as long as you still cover distance, so loops with power. Everyone has a different style and interpretation of a trick, it is up to the rider to impress the judges with flow of riding and showing control.
