Yet again Sunday presented the sport of kitesurfing with a fucking moron flying a kite on the beach with no safety system or leash.
I stood in disbelief that someone would still be doing this given all the stories and kitemares, to my absolute horror, the clown then passed the kite to his buddy who had little or no experience, also without a leash! There were parents and kids downwind and basically everywhere.
Well this took the fucking cherry!! I approached the individual and asked him if it was really such a good idea, to which his response was "I have been kiting for 6 years and given over 700 lessons...You can"t tell me anything about kiting I don"t already know...".
Wow, 700 lessons and 6 years of kiting and you still don"t get the fucking idea???
Accidents happen in the blink of an eye and no-one is immune, plus the fact that there are other people on the beach who do not understand what to do if the kite gets loose.
To cut a long story short, please could everyone who see"s such blantant stupidity walk up and say something, it is in the interest of everyone to help keep the sport safe and ban-free. If people know that this type of reckless behaviour is not going to be tolerated by the whole kiting community then the morons may get the idea.
The best kiters in the world are wearing leashes, it"s a good idea, right?
