Just a quick update to let you know how awesome Cape Town has been the last three weeks! Strong winds almost every day and waves, seals and dolphins too.
It's been all about kitesurfing and surfing and my friends André and Marleen made a few nice pictures of me when I was in Langebaan.
We had a few days with 3 m swell and my ever favourite Big Bay has been kicking it full-on! I'm following the locals with their impressive wave riding, so I'm learning and crashing a lot :)....

Jalou gaat liever surfen
I’m here now for 2 weeks and I really enjoy my stay! The weather is good and the wind is blowing nearly every day. We had some cold bad days with rain and fog. After that the normal conditions return south-east 30/35 knots.
We have been kiting on a lot of different spots, one day we went to The Cape and kited on Witsands. I have never kite on the Cape before so I was pretty exited. The spot was crowded with windsurfers and the wind was to strong for my 7m. But I had some good fun going big. A few days ago the wind was to strong in Tableview so we decided to go to Brandvlaai a lake in mountains. At Brandvlaai the wind is always a little les then in Tabelview. The lake is a good spot to learn tricks, the water is flat and you can ride in your shorty. The wind that day was not to good, quite gusty and light.

Well I am in South Africa. Finally I can just focus on kiteboarding for a couple of months. I am so excited and ready to spent a lot of hours on the water learning new tricks. The first day in South Africa we actually couldn’t practise a lot because of some television interviews for the program "Gillend naar huis", met Gordon.
It will be broadcast on February 14 or 15 (RTL4). Check my website later for the exact date.
For a programma in the Netherlands we had to make some footage and it was a lot of fun. Early afternoon we met the host in front of our apartement. Gordon (a very famous guy in Holland) wanted to learn some kiting. And who is a better teacher then me and my brother (haha). First it was time to learn Gordon some basics. He wasn’t doing bad at all! After that we gave him a O’Neill wetsuit and got in the water. He was scared like crazy and told me that he hadn’t been in the water for years. It was a lot of fun and a great experience.
