Sheldon Plentovich is diagnosed with cancer
Sheldon Plentovich is an intelligent, compassionate, young woman who at this time is fighting for her life.
Many folks in the community know Sheldon as a world class kite surfer and hard working PhD student at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. On March 8, 2006 Sheldon was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia for the second time in her life. As you read this Sheldon is receiving intensive treatment at Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington. Sheldon’s doctors have told her that we she will have to be in Seattle to undergo 3 months of exhaustive chemo-therapy and possibly a donor lymphocyte infusion in order to increase her chances of surviving this disease.
