2003 either will or won’t be the year of speed… We’ve learned recently via our colleagues at Planchemag (French windsurf magazine) that windsurfers have been getting quite excitable over this whole question of speed and that they too will be starting up new speed trials to try and smash the all-category record, currently held by the Australian boat Yellow Pages.
And out of all this stirring a web site has been born, Worldspeedsailing.com and we also learn that Robby Naish is among those lining up for an attempt!!! First event in July on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canaries with multiple world champion Bjorn Dunkerbeck in the field. He’s rumoured to be having an artificial canal dug specially for the occasion…
Friends, kitesurfers, let’s get our fingers out before it’s too late!!!
