Hi Graham, How's it going?
I'm back in portugal for the summer after 3 months in sweden and 3 months in cabo verde this winter, the condititons here are great wind and waves on average 5 days a week.
Managed to get my hand ao a rev 9 from Luis the portugese SS importer and though you might like some feedback.
First day i tested was staed 15-18knotts i would normally have been on my fuel 11. the first thing I noticed about the kite was how smooth it was, the kite sits back a little in the window which give it plenty of power for its size but somehow that power is easily converted into upwind drive. the kite pulls really well in fact i'd say its got a little more power than my fuel 11 but delivered in a way less agressive way. You really are in control of the power from the bar, no matter where in the window the kite sits, even through kite loops you can comfortably trim ther power of the kite. The kite has nothing to do with the link when it comes to stability, its almost imposible to get the kite to fly out of the window, with the kite fully depowered i was able to chuch the bat away while cruising and the kite simply continued to pull.
The second day of testing was in gust 15 to 25 knotts in small waves (pics attached in another mail) the kite performed well again, you fell the giusts through the bar but have time to react with bar pressure and can maitain a smooth upwind ride. In these conditions i would probably be normally riding my fuel 9. so in summary my honest no bullshit opinion about thios kite is that its Smooth, Stable and powerfull, only less agresive than the fuel and is a kite that i will surely add to my quiver, as i have not yet tested the 2008 fuels i cant say that they wont be in there somewhere too, but as my focus is on wave riding right now i´m really excited about this kite.
If you need any more info please feel free to ask, Thanks & Best regards.
Phil
