Hi guys yesterday the final day of the wave masters saw a light SW and big swell still running. but the the wind didn’t play its part and so we were unable to complete another heat. This was no problem as the McNickles caravan resort treated us to a unique surf experience. The owner took us in his tractor to a surf spot that is only accessible by permit! When we got there it was big 4-6 foot with some occasional 8foot bombs, blue water and a point break reeling for about 100m. All the top surfers ( Twiggy ) was on it just hopping off the rocks! For the rest like me and peter ( Danish) it took about 20 min just to paddle out in the channel but it was fun and a good experience!
The wind continued to look poor and we decided to have the prize giving.
1st was Felix Pivec from Maui Hawaii (Airrush)
2nd was Grant ‘Twiggy’ Baker ( wipika)
3rd was ‘Duvet’ Frenchman no one knows how to pronounce his name! (Takoon)
4th was tie between Phil and Gavin (phil cabrinha and gavin slingshot)
I was 6th (cabrinha)
Rob Chrystal (cabrinha)
Peter (Danish) (Naish)
Alwin Van breda (wipika)
Grant Roberts (cabrinha)
Sean pretorius. (Caution)
All in all it was a great comp with a relaxed atmosphere and has great potential to blossom into something really special! Check back for daily reports on the K.P.W.T freestyle world tour stop in Durban from Mon to Sun!
