Half oktober ga ik een weekje weg met mijn vriendin naar Samos. Dicht bij ons hotel zit een Surfcenter, dus gelijk maar even informatie opgevraagd over de kitesurf mogelijkheden.

It is possible to kitesurf from our centre as there are no restrictions however it is not ideal as the wind is on-shore and also it is very fickle the first 200m or so - you really have to power the kite to body drag out. Also you cannot land the kite back on the beach so you have to release the safety and swim in the last few metres.

There is a place about 5 minutes drive away called Kedros - this is where Giorgos the owner of the centre lives - and he believes it is possible to kitesurf from there as it is cross-shore wind without any sun umbrellas or people in the way of the lines! There are no rescue facilities here.

On the other side of the island it is an off-shore wind but again without rescue facilities. I have not windsurfed or kited here but would imagine it is very gusty as the wind would have travelled across the island which is very built up and mountainous.

Wij zijn in juli 2 weken geweest. Je kan je spullen best meenemen. Had ik ook! Ik heb gekite op het strand van Kedros ( brommertje nodig).
Bij het windsurfcentrum zelf is het onmogelijk om te kiten, te druk en grote stenen.
Op Longbeach kan je ook kiten. Tsambou beach kan ook.
Er is altijd rond de 16/17 knopen wind. De zee is rustig.

Neem je spullen dus lekker mee en veel plezier!

In de zomermaanden gaat het wel , in oktober is het redelijk gedaan daar met de wind.
