FINAL PRESS RELEASE
The Corona Extra Winter Tour 2005 finished just over a week ago. You’ve been able to follow the whole thing through all three rounds and now it’s time to round things up.
So many things to say, so many memorable events, great moments…
This 6th annual series has taken us to some incredible locations, starting at the steep sloping Col du Lautaret, through the Col du Simplon in Switzerland – a new tour destination – high in the mountains, up to Norway and those seemingly infinite rolling snowscapes.
This year the rider skill level was much higher generally !
That was particularly true of the ever more numerous Norwegian contingent. Ever present on the tour, they amazed everyone with the power of their riding, their diversity of tricks and jumps, and by their great attitude. And they created as much good vibe on the competition spots as at the parties afterwards. We’ll all remember the exceptional skills and performances of Remi Meum in snowboard, the revelation of this year’s tour. His amazing precision and the technicality of his jumps had the judges deliberating long and hard in Geilo at the final round. Remi’s one we’ll be hearing a lot more from, for sure !
