The new Ricci kite, Type Z is for Zips, the sistem over the bladders that change the tension on the kite, opened for upwind and great speed.
Close(more tension on the edge) for big hang time.
...2 kites in one...

Ben Wilson was just up in our neck of the woods with the new 2004 Fuel 13m albeit an apparently early prototype so I had a good chance to have a good look at it. I too wasn't too sure about the one pump system and thought it to be a gimmick until I had a real good look at it and play with the clips between the main bladder and struts. It really does seem to be a really simple yet highly effective system.
The pressure is equal throughout all bladders so those small end bladders that we all seem to have difficulty inflating to the right pressure are no longer a problem. The main bladder and struts are visibly smaller than the 2003 model. The struts seem to be more robust as well and are built into the canopy (hard to explain) rather than the canopy stitched onto the struts. Certainly no problem locating a leaky bladder and does not seem to be any more difficult to remove and fix/exchange bladders than normal.
One pump is FAR from gimmicky, or even intricate. It's so drop dead simple that most people just smack their foreheads and say "why didn't someone think of this sooner?" Furthermore, it does in fact help with the performance of the kite, Steve, because it totally prevents bladder twists, thus helping to keep the kite from becoming somewhat deformed, which in turn would cost you a certain amount of performance....wouldn't it?
