PRO PRINCESS, THE FIRST ‘WOMEN ONLY’ KITEBOARD
AMERSFOORT (NL) – Sportswomen are no longer satisfied with gear and sportswear designed for general use. This has led to the development of outfits, accessories and gear for women only. Brunotti is the first brand to launch something completely new for female kitesurfers: the Brunotti Pro Princess, a kiteboard designed according to the needs and shapes of women.
Brunotti Boards has been developing all kinds of boards since 1979. With the emerging market of kiteboarding in the late nineties, the core business shifted from windsurf boards to developing kiteboards. These custom-made kiteboards became internationally known due to the worldcup results achieved by Brunotti riders. For the most part they were mále riders. But in the beginning of this century Brunotti signed more and more contracts with female kitesurfers. And because of their talent and critical demands the Brunotti R&D department started designing a ‘women only’ kiteboard.
The Brunotti Pro Princess is manufactured by Brunotti Boards shaper Jinne Sietsma. He learned how to shape boards by no other than Claudio Brunotti himself. Therefore Sietsma has an unprecedented knowledge and experience in the field of boardshaping. He knows exactly how to respond to weather conditions and specific rider style as well as board position and weight. He has applied his knowledge to this new female kiteboard. The Brunotti Pro Princess has a moderate flex in combination with a smooth rocker line. Consequently, the board rides more comfortable and the upwind and top-line speed is increased, while the knees and legs undergo less pressure. Furthermore, the smaller footstrap stance and –pads are perfect for women and offer more comfort during a kiteboard session.
During the test rides in South-Africa and The Netherlands the board was a big hit and Brunotti female riders such as Charlotte van Heurck, Claudia Helt and Bruna Kajiya were enthusiastic about it. For these women the perfect kiteboard is crucial. Especially for Kajiya since she has to defend her title after winning the PKRA World Cup edition in Mexico last March (kitesurf worldcup competition).
Next to boards the brand Brunotti supports female riders with kitesurf clinics and holidays in The Netherlands an Brazil, known as the Brunotti Kitechix weekends and Brunotti Windtown. Moreover the lifestyle brand produces sportswear (such as boardshorts, bikinis, hoodies, pants), eyewear, bags and accessories with a colourful and sportive look.
