IKO introduces the World Ranking and the International Kiteboarding Masters (IKM)
Although Kiteboarding is a relatively new sport, it is growing at a fast pace. Already, there are two world tours and various other national and international competitions throughout the year. There are an increasing number of riders, performing more and more difficult and complex tricks. As the number of competitions and competitors can only grow in the future, the need for a unique ranking system, such as the one applied in tennis or surf, encompassing all the events taking place from the start of the season to its end, is strongly felt.
