Day 1 of the 2004 Cabarete World Cup got off to a rough start. There was a riders meeting at noon where the event was put on a wind hold til at least 2:30. The first heats did not start until around 4 o'clock or so with the pro mens qualifier going first. Overall it was pretty sad with a couple of heats having to be abandoned in the middle as the wind backed off.
