The T’AI Superkite 2005 competition got off to an early start at the Beach Park Ceara Resort in Fortaleza, Brazil. Brilliant, sunny skies greeted the 53 men & 13 women riders who met at 7am to determine the start of the 2005 PKRA World Tour Final. The wind, stronger in the morning hours, filled in to about 18-25 knots and the first heats of the Men’s Trials got underway at 8 am. Most competitors started on their 10 meter kites, switching to 12 and 14 meter by mid to late morning in order to handle the conditions, as the wind dropped to about 15 knots, combined with rolling waves, chop and a strong downwind current....... lees meer
