Kitesurfing’s Youngest & Best

The A$25,000 kitesurfing event at Perth’s Mosman Beach concluded with spectacular results late yesterday, where whirly birds, kite loops and handle pass moves (mobe, front mobe, KGB and slim chance) impressed the judges.

Netherlands teenage superstar Ruben Lenten, at just 16 years of age, surged well ahead of competitors to claim the championship title and A$10,000 winner’s prize. Runners-up were Melbourne’s Daniel Walstab (2nd place); world number one UK champion Aaron Hadlow, also just 16 years old (3rd place); and Perth’s own Adam Ratajewski, an 18 year-old chiropractic student (4th place).
