Kitesurfer omgekomen bij Kaapstad

Een kitesurfer is omgekomen bij Milnerton Lagoon Beach in de buurt van Kaapstad op zaterdagmiddag.

De National Sea Rescue Institute zegt dat de 38-jarige kitesurfer niet meer te redden was. Na pogingen de man te redden is hij dood verklaard op de plek zelf.

Craig Lambinon van de NSIR zegt op EWN.co.za : “We caution that there are strong gusting winds, they are gusting in places at times in excess of 50 Knotts. Any windsurfers, kite surfers or paddlers should exercise caution.”
