Sylt is the most famous island in Germany with a beautiful landscape. The event area will be at the Brandenburger strand in the heart of Westerland. The “Promenade†works like a huge stage for the visitors coming as close to the athletes as anyhow possible.
The Spot Brandenburger Strand has easy access via airport, shuttle train for the cars, so you save time to enter the island but also with a directtrain connection from Hamburg. The main wind direction in June is West /South West also onshore/ side onshore. Depending the Wind strength the waves can be 0,5 m to 3m high. The waves are the most powerful ones in Germany because of the northern sea stepping in to deep water
