I have been looking for a reliable place to kitesurf around Easter for a few years now and thought I should share a recent discovery!
From March to September you can't get much better (in Europe at least) than Alvor in Portugal. Conditions are consistently good from March onwards and the local school is incredibly helpful. I know of several university clubs who have been back several years on the trot (Southampton and Bristol) because they get such a good reception. The beach is quiet, the lagoon is incredible, Nelson at the kite school is incredibly helpful, and the town of Alvor is an excellent place to spend the evening.
There is phenomenal surfing just 40 mins away in Aljezur and occasionally perfect wave riding conditions for kiting. Take a look!
