KPWT Worldcup Noumeau / New Caledonia - 1 december tot en met 9 december 2007
Update 3 december:
Such an intense day today as we completed the Orangina Freestyle first bracket for
men and women.
On quarter finals we miss Daubos (Naish), Tiger (Fone), Cocquelet (Cabrinha) and
Fernandez (Fone) who lost their heat. We then had two semi-finals:
- Garat (RRD) / Auriol (KiteLoose)
- De Aboitiz (Cabrinha) / Hebert (Airush)
After incredible tricks, nice boards off, kiteloop handle passes and a few mobes,
Antoine Auriol (KiteLoose) passed Sébastien Garat (RRD), and Tom Hebert (Airush)
passed De Aboitiz.
The final heat featured Hebert (Airush) and Auriol (KiteLoose) and they both did a
very nice show, despite of the cloudy and rainy conditions. The Caledonian public
enjoyed the show to see the local boy Tom Hebert winning the first bracket.
With Garat 3rdand Hebert 1st, we can promise a very intense event.
On women’s side, Ainhoa Garcia (Airush) won Hélène Barriere (North) on loser’s
finals, and Kristin Boese (Best) won Marine Sudre (Cabrinha) to win the first bracket.
Tomorrow, waveriders have a meeting with Dumbea wave for Pic Nic Wavemasters.
Abel Lago and Jose Luengo will fight for the World Champion title!

Helemaal aan de andere kant van de wereld, waar het nu zomer begint te worden en het al lekker warm is, komen over 2 weken weer de riders van de KPWT samen. De hoofdprijzen van dit jaar zijn al vergeven maar er zit nog wel wat ruimte om wat te stijgen in het algemeen klassement voor diverse riders. Natuurlijk is het totale prijzengeld ook niet misselijk.
