Event History
“Les Derby de la Baule” is a series of sports events all year round since 2003. The Derby consists out of 7 disciplines: showjumping, Dragon boat racing, Polo, Golf, Volleyball, Cricket AND Kite. No panic, no registered kiteboarder has to play Polo! La Baule is maybe the best known location for upper class beach holidays in France. The Derby Kite thus will be enriched by the Kitesurf Tour Europe and the French Equipe will have a hard time to proof against the European athletes.
The Spot
The bay of La Baule has excellent kiting condition in all wind directions. If it`s offshore we will have the opportunity to use boat shuttle to go to the offshore island wich is located 3 km off shore the beach. More Info: www.derbykite.com. We will have the opportunity to use the parking just in front of the event area during the day time. The water temperature will be about 20° celsius. The air temperature will be from 20 - 25 degree Celsius. Please expect side to side onshore conditions from N - NW and S - SW Winds: 3 - 8 Bft.
