Flying Charactaristics

Looking at the kite, one can easily recognize the medium-high aspect design as apposed to the earlier high aspect design. The Rhino 5 is happiest in moderate to strong wind, and performs best in moderate to strong winds. It really has a huge depower range, and feels really soft in the gusts.

I have found that the kite lacks a bit of low end though. In lighter winds the kite becomes quite trim sensitive. The kite flies better in light winds if you depower it. That said, the kite has excellent high end and mid range capabilities, and the lack of low end abilities is merely a trade-off.

One charectaristic that struck me is not only the fast turning speed, but also the instant power delivery. It is so often the case that with fast turning speed, one either has to wait a second or two for the power to be delivered or throw in a extra turn to get the power, but with the Rhino 5 power delivery is just about instantaneous. Transitions felt very easy to do on the kite - you could jump and flick the kite down and forward at the very last second and the kite will pull you out.
