Slingshot Kiteboarding received Patent Pending status for both Splitstrut and One Pump innovations which were launched in Summer of 2003.
Splitstrut is Slingshot's integrated strut technology in which the strut is built into the canopy, forming a solid wing. Struts are attached at two side anchor points instead of one, adding more rigidity with less weight. This allows air pressure in the strut to be fully utilized in creating a solid frame for the canopy, thus delivering a stable and responsive feel in flight
