So, that's what the 07 Octane looked like when first presented to us.
Fly wise, the Link was such a brilliant kite, it was difficult to judge the difference, and when you then went on to rig the Link 5 Line, there was no difference, even to the point some folk found more height, more solid unhooked, better grunt, better upwind - whatever, it got canned by us and the reps.
There is so much more to the Link once you ride it across the wind range that the average one Guy and his kite use, in all areas and all climates and all rider styles, we believe we made the right judgement call.
Only problem being, the Link clearly favours the "older school" seasoned rider wanting the bow style depower but not wanting the current wishy washy bow handling.
I'm sure Octane riders having used both would have made the same call.
But until you've ridden a Link a few days across a variety of conditions, its difficult to accept our word on it, and I understand that fully.
The amount of bullshit there is in this world...
You just have to Trust us, a 5 line Link is a better Octane.
Edit - I dont know what they're feeding that boy downstairs, but there are no plans to launch the Octane07 at this time, not that I'm aware of, oh, and there are still a few 06 Octanes around priced advantageously if you are of that mind.
