Country and Location
Greece , officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in southeastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. The country has borders with Albania, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the east and south of mainland Greece, while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Both parts of the Eastern Mediterranean basin feature a vast number of islands, islets and rock islands. click for larger version

Lefkada, or Leucas is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece, connected to the mainland by a long causeway and floating bridge. The city of Lefkada, is situated on the northern part of the island, approximately 20 minutes by automobile away from Aktion National Airport. The Prefecture of Lefkada comprises Lefkada island plus the smaller nearby islands of Meganisi, Kalamos, Kastos, Madouri, Skorpios, and Sparti. It is the smallest prefecture of Greece in both land area and population. Lefkada Town (population: 6,903), has a pedestrianised main street, a marina, and bus access to Athens. click for larger version

The island has a typical Mediterranean climate: hot summers and cool winters, especially in the mountains. click for larger version


Spot conditions:
The beach
The beach is 5km big without any trees. It is sandy with smooth pebbles. There is enough place for save launching and landing. The beach can be a dirty with sharp objects, so watch out. In front of Milos Beach club there is a line of yellow buoys. The left side is for windsurfing, the right side for kitesurfing. click for larger version


The water conditions
The water is flat to choppy in the summer with the normal thermal wind. With wind from the north there are small to medium sized waves. Watch out for the current and rocks near the beach. The water is warm, only in the winter you need a wetsuit. click for larger version


The wind conditions
During the summer there is 99% chance on a thermal wind. Good months are from May-October. In August the wind drops and is slightly lighter. The main winddirections are from north to west. These directions are onshore and sideshore. During the winter the wind becomes gusty and doesn't blow that often. click for larger version

Travel info
The nearest town is lefkada. The nearest big city and airpot is Prevenza. You can hire a car or take a cab to come to the spot.
