This was a lofting accident that occurred in unstable weather conditions and was the THIRD accident of this kind to happen within 200 ft. of this same location in Miami, FL, USA within one year. She was only doing what MANY riders did up to that point and may even foolishly still do today. Anti-lofting technique is no joke and a critical skill for safer kiteboarding. Anti-lofting principles were in ciruclation prior to her accident, it is unfortunate that many folks either didn't know about them or worse, take them seriously. The photos show what can easily happen if things go seriously wrong.
