Apart from the World Speed Sailing Challenge which is a private / invitation only event, there are other opportunities to catch up with kitesurf’s attempts to reach the speed heights and, above all, break the exisiting sail power record belonging to Yellow Pages Endeavour… The first is due to go off in Namibia, near South Africa, on a little known spot that people are saying very nice things about… Wind blowing regularly between 25 and 45 knots, never less. Little other news at this stage except to say this one should be happening between 28th Sept and 3rd Oct… And following swiftly on, the keen speedsters out there will be heading straight off for some thermal shock treatment in Weymouth, UK, where the traditional Weymouth Speed Week will open its doors for action between the 4th and 10th October. More than ever, kite speed is proving a major attraction, and so much the better
