"It’s been great weather here in Finistere for a few days now. The press have left us alone for the present, and a pleasant north / north-westerly thermic has come along, allowing us to start some specific group training, just off the cliffs in the big bay at Douarnenez. The first members of the Archers (our sound and vision technical team) have also just arrived on site. The team is assembling with each passing day. On the rider side, Seb Cattelan has called to say he has to finish a competition in Germany before joining us on Wednesday. Tomorrow we’re all off to Brest to start getting to know our support boat for he trip, Olivier De Kersauson’s redoubtable motorised trimaran, Ocean Alchemist. If wind conditions allow we’ll be starting to test out the launch and landing phases from the boat, these will need to be as smooth and problem free as possible come the day. The week we’ll be spending in Brest should be mainly spent on fine tuning of this kind. Once we’re all ready, we’re off…" Christopher Tasti
