International Kiteboarding Event

Part 2 of the Kiteboard Wavemasters kicks off at Bazley Beach on KZN's South Coast
from 15 -21 September. The format for the event will be a wave riding event with the tour organisers looking for the best location on the mid south coast, The criteria will 8 foot plus surf and the right wind conditions in excess of 12 knots. The event has seven days to provide a result and the area chosen can provide the goods. The headquarters for the daily briefings and accommodation for the week will be MacNicoll's Bazley Beach Caravan Resort.

South Africa's top kiteboarders will be in action at this event. Surfing legend Gavin Spowart will be using his surfing experience to capitilise, Other notably entries are big wave rider Grant "Twiggy" Baker, and Alwin van Breda from Durban, Cape Town will be leading the charge with South Africa's No1 Greg Hydenrych, Phil Marchand and Grant Roberts. the international contingent with Felix Pivec from Australia, Hervé Bouré, Pierre Romain, Richard Boudia, Mickael Fernandez from France. This will be their first time in South Africa and the local lads will be hard to beat coupled with the fact that we are used to good surf conditions throughout the year.
