This past Saturday, October 25th 2003 will go down in the record books as first time the ocean between Bonaire and Curaçao was covered by way of kitesurfing.
Kite Crossing…
"The first ever Kite Crossing between Bonaire – Curacao was established in a spectacular and safe way. A demonstration that this sport, if practiced with the right material and knowledge, is very safe. From our point of view it also gives something positive to report after all the unjustly negative publicity kitesurfing has endured lately. It shows people that the sport is not as dangerous as has been written in the newspapers.
The sport should also be accessible for local athletes, but who are now obstructed to even try this new exciting sport. Everybody who is interested in a certain sport should have the opportunity to explore his or her interest."
