PKRA 2003 FINAL WORLD TOUR STOP IN BRAZIL STARTS BREWING…
(November 22, 2003-Ceara, Brazil)- The Final event for the 2003 PKRA World Tour will commence with in Ceara, Brazil on November 25, 2003. The Tour year has been full of surprise, with upsets and triumphs. Questions still remain as to who the 2003 World Champions will be!
Current Tour standings are:
Men’s Top Ten: Martin Vari ARG Cabrinha 3.4 pts Andre Phillip ANT Cabrinha 8.7 pts Jaime Herraiz ESP North 10 pts Mark Doyle USA Slingshot 11 pts Will James USA North 14 pts Sky Solbach USA Gaastra 18.7 pts Aaron Hadlow UK Flexifoil 19 pts Etienne Lhote FRA North 19 pts Abel Lago ESP Naish 23 pts Giani Aragno ESP Slingshot 24 pts

Highlights thus far for the 2003 season includes the break of the winning streak for the Women’s unbeaten current 2003 Tour leader and 2002 Tour Champion Cindy Mosey, when she was beaten by Ingrid Kollbichtler in Fuerteventura, Spain this past July. Also in the Women’s field, there has been some jockeying amongst Second and Third places, with varying results, leaving the Final rankings for these places, after Brazil, a question.
The Men’s current leader, Martin Vari, lost one event to Andre Phillip in Cabarete, DR this last June. Vari also missed an event in Germany after an injury incurred in Spain- he still maintains a 5.3 point -margin lead over Andre Phillip, second in the standings. Vari will be back in Brazil to defend his lead. With Jaime Herraiz attending there should be some tough competition as he has secured no lower than a 4th Place finish in any of the 3 events he competed in this year, matching the consistency of Vari, and he also missed one event. Mark Doyle is ranked closely behind Herraiz, he has been impressive all year as well, strongly representing the new youth culture entering the sport, and he has attended all Tour events this year.
The turnout for the Final is expected to be full, and therefore limitations on registration numbers has been set, thereby assuring a swift finish to the Trials, allowing enough time to get Final Results, and World Champions determined, for the last 2003 PKRA World Tour stop in Ceara, Brazil.
